Huayi Festival Free Events at the Esplanade: Saturday Feb 28

It's a busy day for the cheapskate reader at the Huayi Festival at the Esplanade.

At the Concourse
Who: Yang Xiuting and Mandy Tan
What: Keychain making workshop for kids 6 years and younger. (A goat keychain, using shrinking art method..whatever that is...it's free!)
When: 1:30pm; 3:30pm; 5:30pm (Repeats on Sunday, Mar 1)

Who: Young People's Performing Art Ensemble
What: Youths in Crosstalk (It's probably in Mandarin, although the website doesn't specify.)
When: 3pm; 4pm; 5pm

Singer-Songwriter triple bill
First: Ruth Kueo Miaoru X Fatt @ 7:15pm
Second: Kathryn Q. @ 8:30pm
Third: Bevlyn Khoo @ 9:45pm

Ruth Kueo is a singer and songwriter, and has her own Youtube channel. Fatt is a guy who plays an instrument. Kathryn Q. has written a hit song for Andy Lau in her 25 years of dabbling with song writing occasionally. Bevlyn Khoo comes with a band.

At the library@Esplanade
Who: Assoc. Prof. Chin Kwee Nyet, National University of Singapore
What: A talk on the Dramatic Worlds of Cao Yu and Lao She (Modern Chinese writers)*
When: 3pm
* The talk will be in Mandarin.

At the Outdoor Theater
Who: Chriz Tong and Donnie Chan
What: Signature theme songs from past TV dramas
When: 7:30pm; 8:45pm; 10pm
